The Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne (SJA) is a welcoming family of faith. We are proudly Catholic rooted in the teachings and sacraments of the Catholic Church, and guided by our shepherd, Archbishop Bernard Hebda in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. We strive to follow Jesus Christ, live a life of generous Christian discipleship, and joyfully lead our families, neighbors, and all people to a loving relationship with our Savior by means of prayer and the sacraments, education, evangelization, and service.
We are stewards of three beautiful church buildings and a thriving private Catholic school, built by the faith and heroic sacrifices of those who came before us who lived their faith daily here in Shakopee.
Our patrons, Saint Joachim and Saint Anne are the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and grandparents of her divine Son, Jesus Christ. We count on their prayers and look to their example as we strive to be faithful to our mission here in Shakopee.

CHURCH OF SAINT MARYSt. Mary’s opened its doors in 1865 to kindle the spirit of our Catholic faith. We look back at our parish history and realize the tremendous growth we have achieved as a family. Our liturgical and spiritual past is one built on guidance from our heavenly Father and the breadth of Tradition deposited and entrusted to us. While nourishing us with His Sacraments our Lord Jesus has led us down many paths. Through the Spirit, we have experienced the purest of love. This unconditional love ignites our passion for understanding and continues to build our need to fulfill His will. Our congregation continues to grow in love and understanding. It is our hope and prayer, that you will receive the many gifts waiting for you in accordance with God’s plan. May the Lord continue to watch over you, and guide you through life’s journey. ST.
