Holy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ when he established the sacrament of Holy Communion before his arrest and crucifixion. It was the final Passover meal Jesus shared with His disciples in Jerusalem. Jesus performed a last act of service as He washed each of the Apostles' feet, except Judas, who had already departed to betray Him. Christ would fulfill His role as the Christian victim of the Passover for all to be saved by His final sacrifice.
