"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4
Eternal rest grant unto him/her, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him/her. May he/she rest in peace. Amen.
May his/her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
All-powerful and merciful God, we commend to you (name) your servant. In your mercy and love, blot out the sins he/she has committed through human weakness. In this world he/she has died: let him/her live with you forever. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
The loss of a loved one is painful and often challenging to navigate through your grief. We here at Saints Joachim & Anne wish to support you through this difficult time.
Funerals are arranged in cooperation with your funeral home of choice and SJA's parish office. Please make initial contact with your funeral home director and they will contact our office. Your family will then meet with SJA's Director of Sacred Music and Funeral Ministry to plan the Mass of Christian Burial.
We have resources available with information to plan a beautiful Catholic ceremony with suggested readings, prayers of the faithful, music, and opportunities to involve other family and friends in the liturgy (Eucharistic ministers, lectors, gift bearers, eulogists, etc.).
A luncheon may be offered for the family and friends to come together after the funeral to share hugs and stories of their loved ones. We have two facilities that can host a luncheon.
St. Mark Social Center - 350 Atwood St S, Shakopee, MN 55379
This facility is available for smaller groups. A small kitchen is available for set up and food prep.
St. Mary of the Purification of Marystown - 15850 Marystown Rd, Shakopee, MN 55379
This facility is available for large groups. A full commercial kitchen is available for set up and food prep.
Food may be ordered by the funeral luncheon committee or you may cater a meal.
Family, friends, and neighbors are encouraged to contribute hot dishes, salads, and desserts for the luncheon.
The Parish of Saints Joachim & Anne has two cemeteries where we offer Catholic burials. Columbariums for cremated remains are available at both cemeteries.
For more information on each of our cemeteries please visit our SJA Cemeteries page.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
