“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Pack 917 makes its home in Shakopee, Minnesota and is chartered by the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne. The Pack serves as a “parent” organization to the Dens and provides direction, program support and maintenance of the budget. The Pack is led by the Pack Committee that consists of representatives from each Den, Cubmaster and other volunteer leaders. The Pack Committee Chairman leads these monthly meetings and we encourage parents to participate. Meetings can be found on the Pack calendar. The Pack Committee along with the Cubmaster leads the group in planning and organizing Pack programs. Packs are divided into Dens of six to ten boys. Dens are made up of boys in the same grade and age, so they can work together to earn the appropriate Rank. It is never too late to join Cub Scouts… If you have a boy who is in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th grade, it is never to late to register him for Cub Scouts! Please contact us for more information!
Our Troop was established in 2003 and resides in the Dan Patch District of the Northern Star Council. We meet all year round every other Tuesday at St. Mark’s School in Shakopee (at the corner of Scott St. and 3rd Avenue). We aim to run a boy-driven program with an active advancement program. We have monthly outings that include camping trips, biking trips, hiking trips and district camporees. We currently have over 30 active boys in multiple Patrols. We camp using the Patrol Method and our own Troop patrol boxes and equipment. Our Troop Committee consists of dedicated parent volunteers who believe strongly in the aims of Boy Scouting. To date, over 40 Troop 619 scouts have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
