“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of us has the opportunity to re-evaluate and reflect on our giving in light of our commitment to our faith. The challenge for all of us is to pray seriously about increasing our regular financial gifts to the parish collection. So many good people in the pews make beautiful sacrifices year-round. This is inspiring and humbling. However, we see a trend that many regularly contributing parishioners give the same amount year after year, simply because they do not reflect on their regular weekly tithe and special contributions. The chart below provides guidance to help you discern the level of your gift. Please spend some time in prayer and see how God is calling you to place your gifts before Him with a joyful heart.
SJA offers a variety of convenient ways to offer your tithes and offerings. You can choose the option that works best for you. Whatever you initially decide can easily be changed by calling the parish office or in your online account.
The easiest, safest, and fastest way to give is by giving online. Process one-time or recurring donations immediately. Set up an account to have access to make changes at any time. We offer four different ways to give electronically. See below for more information on each of these options.
If you prefer to give in the collection basket, we can set up SJA envelopes to be conveniently mailed to your home quarterly or you can use any envelope you have available. Simply mark the outside of the envelope with the Sunday date of donation, your first and last name, donation intent (Christmas, Year-End Giving, etc.), and parishioner number (if you know it). Then drop the envelope in the collection basket during the weekend Mass or mail it to the parish office at 2700 17th Ave E, Shakopee, MN 55379.
Other contribution methods include grants from donor-advised funds, stock donations, and qualified charitable distributions from an IRA. Consult with your tax advisor to see if one of these methods could be beneficial for you.
Electronic giving is a convenient way to support the parish even when you are unable to attend Mass. There are multiple ways you can give safely and securely electronically. Choosing to give electronically offers you, the donor, flexible ways to support your parish from anywhere. Setting up a recurring contribution helps SJA to create a better forecast for budgeting purposes. When you give online using a Recurring Payment, you never have to worry about forgetting your checkbook or being out of town. Instead, your gift can be deducted automatically from your account without you ever having to manually write a check.
Setting up an EFT saves the parish from paying extra fees!
You fill out an EFT form, which includes your bank routing and account number, your specified contribution % or amount, and an attached voided check.
SJA then provides your information to our bank which sets up an automatic withdrawal.

Fill out the form and sign it. Send the completed form one of two ways:
1) Scan and email to our SJA finance department at [email protected]

Check with your financial institution to see if they offer auto bill pay.
A quick and easy way to give electronically is by using the "Bill Pay" feature on your bank's website. This service is normally provided free of charge both to you (the bank's customer) and to SJA.
(Each bank may be slightly different)
1. Log on to your bank's website and click on the link for the "Bill Pay" feature.
2. Add "Saints Joachim & Anne" as a Payee.
3. Set up recurring payments to be sent to SJA on a scheduled basis, such as:
- Weekly or monthly tithe
- Monthly Hands of Christ
- Annual special offerings such as Easter & Christmas
4. Each time you make a gift (either one-time or recurring), the bank will mail a check to SJA. SJA will deposit the check into our bank account just like a regular, handwritten check.
“Beloved children, our love can't be an abstract theory we only talk about, but a way of life demonstrated through our loving deeds.” 1 John 3:18
In celebration of Christ’s resurrection, take time to call to mind the blessings we experience in this life.
We ask you to prayerfully consider your giving, as we rely on collections to balance our budget, finish our fiscal year strong, and plan budgets for the coming year.
“Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near, and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12:33,34
